Cry, Baby, Cry... I Am

(Here’s the results show recap from Howard!)

American Idol Season 8 Top 04

With a performance show last night that threatened to change the standings drastically, can anyone be considered safe? Adam, how was presumably in the bottom 2 last week? Kris, who was just ahead of him? Allison, who has been riding the ups and downs of competition for weeks? Or Danny, who was the presumptive leader last week, but gave voice to the howl heard 'round the world?

They are planning to reveal the Top 3 of Season 8, and over 64 million votes! No Doubt is in the house, and Daughtry will perform their latest single, and Paula is on the stage. The Ford Fusion video was animated Idols to 'Move Along.' The Top 4 took the stage with Slash and his band, with 'Schools Out.' Wow, they sang live!

Thus far, the set is staying together. Paula is up next, and they keep saying she has never performed there before, but didn't she do it with 'Dance Like There Is No Tomorrow' last year? Was it just a video premier. It was iffy as to how much singing she was doing, but she looked good and danced well.

No Doubt is next, singing 'I'm Justa Girl.' It was a very old school 'No Doubt' performance, with a the new tour is kicking off next week, and a new CD in the offing. Results are coming up after the commercial. And by results, it certainly doesn't mean who is eliminated, because Daughtry will perform first.

So who is in the bottom 2 tonight? Finalists will be announced in random order, so we won't know who is inn the lead. Alison is up first. Then Danny. And Adam. And Kris. One is going to safety. The first person in the top 3 is....Kris! The kids are so excited!

Daughtry is up next, after a recap of Chris' Idol journey. And we are getting his new single, 'No Surprise.' Chris is in great voice, and it is a fun song. The crowd is going nuts. He is given a plaque to commemorate 5 million sold worldwide for the first CD. Chris is gracious to the crowd, thanking them for their support. Despite being reminded by Crusty that this is the 3rd anniversary of his being booted.

We are back, and getting ready for the next person safe. That person is Adam Lambert. And the last person safe is Danny Gokey. Allison is going home. How sad. My Pool picks were not right. She is being great, singing through the tears. She is nailing the song. That was great.

So very sad. I had such high hopes for this results show...
