'Crazy Ones' Actress Replaces Krysta Rodriguez on 'How I Met Your Dad'

After news broke that Smash actress Krysta Rodriguez would be leaving the cast of How I Met Your Dad before pilot filming began, we were left with the question of which actor would be hired to replace her. Well, those of us looking forward to the How I Met Your Mother spinoff were, anyway. And now, we have an answer!

Tiya Sircar, a recurring star of CBS comedy The Crazy Ones, has been cast to replace Rodriguez on How I Met Your Dad. Sircar will play the “sexy and flamboyant best friend” of Sally (Greta Gerwig), the series lead.

Sircar has been busy as of late. In addition to the multi-episode arc she just finished on The Crazy Ones, playing Hamish Linklater's love interest, she was also among the leads in The Internship this past summer. She also recently completed an arc on Lifetime's The Witches of East End. This is without even getting into her new role as one of the characters in Disney's hotly-anticipated animated series, Star Wars Rebels.

I think this is a great choice, although it remains to be seen how this cast is going to work together. I'm keeping optimistic though, even though How I Met Your Mother was the kind of lightning in a bottle that's hard to replicate.
