Country Singer Luke Bryan on Joining 'The Voice': I Never Rule Anything Out
Could NBC's hit show The Voice be getting another Country addition? Well, maybe not any time soon, but in exclusive interview with Country Weekly, Luke Bryan is considering it. The singing competition series has already seen two country stars -- Reba and Miranda Lambert -- make appearances on the show.
Since Blake Shelton's debut on reality TV early last year on The Voice's first season, there has been a remarkable trend for Country singers to join in on the fun. Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles will be throwing her hat into the ring this summer on ABC's new shwo Duets, and John Rich of Big & Rich will mentor on CW's The Star Next Door.
Is TV on Country overload?
More importantly, would Luke make a good guest mentor? Does he have the credentials?
From Country Weekly:
With his solid country vocal, energetic onstage charisma and likable personality, could Luke Bryan be the next celebrity musical coach or guest mentor? "I never rule anything out," Luke tells CountryWeekly.com. "If I had the time and the right opportunity came along, you never know. I would always put a lot of thought in it. It would probably be something I would look into. I think [music competitions] have their place and they are great at finding talent."Luke does have high praise for his buddy and The Voice coach Blake. "Blake does great, Blake’s totally the right personality for that," says Luke. "When you look at when country music is being represented in that capacity, he’s a great representative for country music."
