Cougar Town - You Wreck Me - Recap

Cougar Town - You Wreck Me

(Here's Desi's recap of tonight's episode of Cougartown "You Wreck Me")

This week on Cougartown, Jules decides that she wants to start taking some more time off for herself. This means turning over some of the daily duties of the agency over to her assistant, Laurie. The pair start off with an 8:00 AM showing that Laurie will shadow Jules on, but she's late to pick up her boss.

Jules takes these extra few minutes to run across the street to talk to her newspaper buddy, Grayson, who is hoisting golf clubs into the trunk of his car. "HEY! Do you golf?" Jules asks. She wants to set him up with ex-husband Bobby, saying that both men need a friend. Laurie finally pulls up, driving in her panties, because in the process of air-drying her skirt, it flew out the window. A good start for the day.

When they arrive at the agency, Ellie and Jules critique Laurie's choice in bra, saying there has to be a little something for the husband, but not so much that it's all out there. Laurie's problem with the outfit isn't her bouncing boobs, it's her hemline: "I feel creepy with my knees covered," she says.

Jules demonstrates how to set up a welcoming open house: the key, she says, is using lots of bowls with wooden fruit. She goes out to lunch with her younger boyfriend, Josh, and leaves Laurie to set up the rest of the house. Being older, Jules says she's not a fan of PDA when Josh tries to hold her hand over the table. He then tries to kiss her, so she conferences with Ellie and Laurie and decides that she should go for it. She tries, but she's reminded of his terrible kissing style. She teaches him how to kiss by using an apple, and I'd have to say that it's a pretty effective teacher. "Pretend you're a curious little garden snake," she coaches.

Laurie calls to ask how Jules knows when she's done decorating a house. Laurie decides that she is finished enough to go out to a party, and then she'll go back to double check the dressing. She puts on her fighting nails so she can fight someone who once cheated on her and goes off for the evening.

The next time we see Laurie, she has a kleenex stuck up her nose and she's on the phone to Jules. "I didn't think anyone would be home," Laurie says, "and I hit him with a wooden banana."

While the girls were kissing men and fighting homeowner's sons, Grayson had agreed to go golfing with Bobby. However, he beats Bobby's course record, leaving him feeling inadequate. Jules then leaves it on Grayson to cheer Bobby back up, and they bond in the bar (after an awkward scene where Bobby cries to a seagull on his boat.) The episode finally closes with Ellie giving praise to Jules and Josh's first public kiss.
