BBC America is putting an end to Copper.

The period crime drama from Tom Fontana and Will Rokos has been cancelled by the network, reports Variety. The series premiered in August 2012, but its second season failed to match the respectable ratings of the first. BBC America ultimately felt that it was a fortuitous time to end the show, given the current storylines of the program.

The series finale of Copper will air on Sunday, Sept. 22.
