Computer Crash Update

I had all these "reflection" posts in my head about how wonderful my trip to the West Coast was, but then I come home and bad things happened. First of all, JetBlue service in New York really sucks now. I hope they can turn things around. I might just defect to Virgin America on my next trip in December. Second, I had a terrible headache from the flight when I arrived (bad Chardonnay and lack of sleep on an airplane) -- but instead of sleeping immediately, I had to go to the pharmacy for some Tylenol aggravating the headache. Third, Malta Corona died! He was still swimming when I got home, but after I fed him, he died. I guess he starved to death or the New York heat was just too much. He's actually been dead for 48 hours in the bowl before I flushed him down the toilet a few moments ago. I know, it was evil -- but Malta and I, unlike my previous fish, weren't that close. He was the most beautiful on the outside, but we just didn't connect. (Could he have died of loneliness? OMG, now I feel guilty). Anyway, finally, my hard drive crashed the other day. In my attempts to recover my data, I realized that in a 150 GB drive full of stuff, there was really just one 1 MB file that I really needed. And that file of course is corrupted! Arghhh. I'm currently trying to recover my HD videos of Sanjaya Malakar and Danny Tidwell (and probably some other guys), but I will just be happy if I recover something. Ironically I had already moved a lot of files to DVDs but not the video files that I wanted to see on my computer.

So anyway, my reflection posts will have to wait a few days as I sort out this mess. After I get enough Sanjaya videos back, I think I will be ok. It's actually a way to start fresh and setup a good backup strategy. I've decided not to pay for data recovery since the ROI is not good. $1000 to get back a video of Boy Shakira dancing on America's Got Talent? I think I'll pass.

Godspeed Malta Corona! May the speedways of the New York sewer system lead you to the East River... and beyond!

P.S. One good thing though: My Xbox buddies and I finally finished War Town on Rainbow Six Vegas. Woohoo!
