Comment Wars

As we are fast approaching the 6th is the new 1st benchmark for this season, I've noticed that the discussions have understandably gotten a bit more intense. One day, I will have a better system for moderating comments, but right now it's just too much for me, and I've relied on everyone's sense of civility.

Of course, not everyone is as nice as the majority. So there have been a number slipping through the cracks that I personally don't want to see too much of but I just have to accept because I'm just not too technically inclined right now. Hopefully, a lot of you have learned to ignore the ignorant. The blog is actually a lurker's paradise. You can actually just watch the comments fly on Tuesday and get a good laugh.

Anyway, I've noticed a couple of trends:

The Chris Daughtry vs. Taylor Hicks war. It took me a while to catch on, but there seems to be a faction out there bent on murdering Chris and/or Taylor every chance they get. This is a bit disappointing, specially since Chris is getting hammered more than Taylor. I think Chris is getting a bad wrap for being the annointed one, and a lot of people just can't accept that. (Haha, fanning the flames there, it's really all my fault, LOL)

Mandisa and Paris fans vs. Rickey! Yup, I think though that its the anti-Rickey Mandisa fans that have taken Paris's cause that doing it. This is just full of irony. I'm amazed how these guys have a particular disdain for Rickey. As an example, anti-McPheever, Chris and Elliott peeps just go after the singers themselves, and the Kellie peeps just defend and don't attack. The Mandisa/Paris Rickey-haters however, attack me personally, and don't even bother to defend anymore. WTF is that? And to think I've been a Paris supporter from the very beginning. Some of the comments here hurt me to the point that I have ceased to be a Mandisa supporter.

Elliott/Bucky love. You either get it, or you don't. I love you guys!

Ace lovers and Ace gay speculators. It seems that the little girl vote is solid for Ace this year. I would have gotten on the bandwagon if the "fals" wasn't so false, but you're on your own girls. Did we really start the Ace is gay rumor on rickey.org?

Katharine haters. I know. I don't know how I can steer the blog away from so much negativity, but these guys hate Katharine with a passion. Why can't we all just get along? You know I love her, stop hurting me.

Ultra-Christians vs. Rickey. This seems to pop up every once in a while. The strongest attacks against me have always been from this group. I think I'm at war with these guys for some reason.

The Claymates. I think I've gotten on their good side finally with my recent Clay Aiken post. Yup, once upon a time I got hate-mail from these guys.

The Rickey fan club. Haha. Where do I sign up? You know, I honestly think about our regular readers and comment-contributors, and it makes me feel everything will be okay in the end.

I try to create an enjoyable environment for everyone, but there are just some stuff that I cannot control unless I shut interaction down. Maybe during the summer I'll do a total renovation. I hope that the recent intensity has not deterred from your enjoyment of the blog. It's not humanly possible to scan through 500 comments in two hours while I make MP3s and videos. I hope you understand.

Thanks for the support! And after several hours and at 2:16 AM, I will finally eat dinner. I'm so dedicated.
