Comment Spam

Dear Friends:

We now have officially lost the battle with the comment spammers (from Korea, Malaysia, Canada, Sweden, Florida, wherever they may be). For the past two days, it's just been unbearable on the backend -- 800 spam comments in 24 hours -- I was already thinking of turning everything off. However, after rickey.org was responsible for shutting down the server it is on (shared by hundreds of other sites) just a couple of hours ago, Dreamhost has shut off the comment system themselves. They've even threatened to disable my account. Waaaa. So no more comments.

I will try to figure all this out for the rest of the week with my limited technical skill. Please bear with me. E-mail me if you really need to tell me something. rickey {AT} excite [DOT] com.

P.S. MovableType (and Typepad) really sucks. It cannot support a moderately busy blog like ours on a fairly standard setup. One of the worst investments I have done in the past two years. Never again.
