Comedy Central Renews 'At Midnight' (VIDEO)
Comedy Central is keeping the comedy alive in late night for another season.
The network has renewed At Midnight (stylized as @midnight) for a second season. The news was confirmed by host Chris Hardwick on last night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The late night game show debuted last year to solid numbers in its midnight time slot, growing throughout its life span to average roughly 769,000 viewers. At Midnight also boasts a strong social presence as well, featuring what the press release claims is the highest concentration of men among late-night talk shows, with a whopping 68 percent.
As a fan of the series, this makes me pretty damn happy. The show has a knack for getting really funny comedians to compete on the show, meaning it's usually one of the funnier shows in late night. And the game show conceit actually adds to the comedy, as the silly categories provide a platform for some great comedy. So this is good news, all-around.
