Comedy Central is remaining firmly in the sketch comedy and animation fields.
The network has renewed Drunk History, Brickleberry, and Key & Peele.
For Key & Peele, this is a no-brainer, as the show is number on on cable in its timeslot among the males 18-34 demographic. The show, currently in its third season, is also extremely popular online, having been streamed approximately 400 million times, making a fourth season renewal a sure-thing for Comedy Central.
Meanwhile, Daniel Tosh-produced animated series Brickleberry has done respectable numbers for the network, drawing roughly 1.6 million viewers, beating all other TV shows in its timeslot among males 18-24. The show is currently in its second season, and will return for its third with stars Natasha Leggero, Tom Kenny, Jerry Minor, and Dave Herman.
Lastly, freshman comedy series Drunk History is already filming for its second season, having begun production this past weekend in Austin, Texas. The series averaged roughly 1.2 million viewers this past summer, with episodes featuring special guest stars such as Jack Black, Connie Britton, Winona Ryder, Michael Cera and Kristen Wiig.
All three series will return in 2014.
