Colton Dixon returns to 'American Idol' on March 28, 2013

Colton Dixon is the special guest performer on American Idol next week.

Colton says that Angie Miller helped boost sales of his single "Never Gone."

Colton Dixon slated to return to American Idol stage

Former AMERICAN IDOL finalist COLTON DIXON is set to return to the show next week (28Mar13), and he's looking forward to collaborating with current hopeful ANGIE MILLER on the show.

The season 11 alum has confirmed he will be back on the Idol stage to perform a song from his debut album, A Messenger.

Although he won't reveal which song he plans on singing, he does admit he's looking forward to meeting Miller, who performed his hit song Never Gone during the semi-finals.

And thanks to her standout rendition, sales for his song jumped a couple of hundred, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
But the 21 year old tells The Hollywood Reporter that he actually heard her version of the song long before Miller performed on national TV, thanks to a video of the cover, which she posted on YouTube.com last year (12).

Dixon reveals, "I saw that with a buddy of mine several months ago. I commented on it, and said it was great. I had no idea she was trying out for Idol... She did an absolutely phenomenal job. I loved her version of it, and I wish there was an iTunes version."

And Dixon, who at first didn't even realize Miller was the same girl he had seen online, is eager to show his gratitude for the sales boost.
