Colin's comin' to Fargo!
Colin Hanks, the former Dexter star and son of Oscar winner Tom Hanks, has signed on to appear in FX's upcoming TV miniseries adaptation of the Coen Brothers' Oscar-winning film Fargo, reports AV Club.
Hanks will play Deputy Gus Grimly, one of the new characters added to the adaptation. Grimly is described as a character who must "balance his priorities between being a single dad and tracking down a killer," a description that draws obvious parallels to the Marge Gunderson role of the original 1996 film, a role that won Frances McDormand an Academy Award.
The 10-episode series, to be adapted by the Coen Brothers, will reportedly share a tone and setting with the 1996 film, but with an entirely different story and set of characters, as evidenced by Hanks' casting. However, the actor is already in good company, as he'll be joined by previously confirmed cast members Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman.
