CMA Award Nominations 2014, Taylor Swift Snubbed From Top Award

The nominations are in for the CMA Awards 2014, and it's a pretty surprising lineup. On the one hand, The Voice is finally breaking through in a major awards ceremony, as The Swon Brothers have been nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year. And their coach, Blake Shelton, is up for three awards, including Entertainer of the Year. However, Shelton is not up for nearly as many awards as his wife, Miranda Lambert, who is up for twice as many CMA honors. She leads the pack with eight nominations, including several instances in which she'll be facing off against Blake: the husband-and-wife duo will compete against one another in the Entertainer of the Year category, and the Single of the Year category (Miranda's "Automatic" vs. Blake's "Mine Would Be You").

Blake isn't the only reality show judge getting love from the awards, as American Idol judge Keith Urban made the cut in four categories, including Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. It's a pretty stacked lineup in that top category, actually. So much so that expected Entertainer of the Year nominee Taylor Swift ended up being snubbed from the top award. Then again, it's not that much of a surprise. She hasn't been as active this year as in year's past, and only just returned to the spotlight with her new single, "Shake It Off" -- a song that is decidedly not country. Swift fans still shouldn't be disappointed though, since their girl is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. In short, there's plenty of love to go around.
