Cleaning House
I threw away some clutter in the room and I have noticed a minor improvement. I think the slow but sure approach is working, although I am dreading the throw clothes and other knick knack parts of my organization. There are a couple of mantras I will live by for the coming days: I will not keep any notes for anything that I now know I will never do (i.e. Flash programming, Advanced Excel) and I will not keep anything that I will never wear again regardless of any sentimental value (i.e. the Getty t-shirt that looks like a rag, the Dreamworks sweater which has been discolored by bleach, the stylish Banana Republic slacks I bought on sale four years ago which I never wore). I really want to get this over and done with, but I find myself looking at my "stuff" and I'm just stunned.

I just realized that the writing thing will begin soon, so I'm thinking of plots and reading some tips on how to get through this. At this moment, I have the science fiction plot in mind, which is about a young man who attempts to save his father from marauding aliens/robots. Originally, I thought of just free writing, but that would be too foolish. I have an outline handy now which needs more refinement, but I think a guide would be good. Without it, I may just mix and match all the other plots that I have in my head, and may accidentally insert an inappropriate sex scene while my lead character is blasting away at alien scum.
