Christopher Dorner dead after deadly standoff

Police have recovered a body which is believed to be that of Christopher Dorner from a burned out cabin in Big Bear, California.

This monster managed to kill one more person today and injured and terrorized a few more. Thank @god it's over.

LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith Tuesday night said that despite earlier reports, Christopher Dorner’s body has not been recovered from a burned out cabin where he was holed up during a deadly shootout with authorities earlier today.

A body believed to be to that of quadruple-murder suspect Christopher Dorner has been recovered from a burned out cabin, where he was holed up during a shootout earlier today.

CBS2?s Carter Evans reported that tear gas was fired into the house before the fire broke out.

LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith Tuesday urged Dorner to turn himself in as a gun battle and barricade situation raged on in San Bernardino County.

“Enough is enough. It’s time to turn yourself in. End the bloodshed,” Smith said, adding that Dorner, who allegedly shot and killed his fourth victim — a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy — Tuesday afternoon, was holed up in a Seven Oaks cabin. The home, ironically, is located near the Sheriff’s outpost that was set up earlier this week as part of the search for him.
