'Chicago Fire' Actress Molly Glynn Killed in Tragic Accident
Hollywood has lost another TV star this weekend: Molly Glynn, an actress with a recurring role on NBC's Chicago Fire, was reportedly killed on Saturday after getting struck by a falling tree. She was 46.
The freak accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Glynn had been riding her bike through the Forest Preserve Trail in Chicago's Erickson Woods with her husband, stage actor Joe Foust, when a tree suddenly fell and struck her. She was rushed to nearby Evanston Hospital, but died from her injuries the following day.
Foust confirmed the tragic news on his Facebook page, posting about the horrible accident in the immediate aftermath on Friday: "Friends, this is the darkest day of my life. Things will never be the same. Molly got hit by a falling tree while we were biking. At hospital now. Prognosis is grim."
After Glynn passed away on Saturday, Foust updated the page: "I couldn't save her. I couldn't save her. She's gone."
He would go on to add: "Love hard, people. Love hard."
A Give Forward page has been set up to collect donations in order to help Foust pay the hefty medical bills and funeral expenses resulting from the tragedy. The donations would also help support his and Glynn's children during this unfathomably trying time. So far, over $110,000 of the $125,000 goal has been donated.
In addition to playing a doctor in three episodes of Chicago Fire, Glynn had roles in episodes of Boss and Early Edition.
Our thoughts are with Foust and the rest of Molly Glynn's family and friends at this difficult time.
