Cheryl Cole Secretly Married Her French Boyfriend Last Week

Congratulations are in order for X Factor UK judge Cheryl Cole, although the congrats will have to be belated.

Cole has confirmed that she secretly married French boyfriend Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini exactly one week ago, on July 7th. The 31-year-old singer says she's making the announcement in order to stop speculation about her private life.

"I usually do not discuss my personal life. But to stop speculation, I want to share my happy news," Cole writes, in a statement on her official website. "Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. We are very hapy and excited to move forward with our lives together."

Cole and Fernandez-Versini, a 33-year-old pop-up restaurant entrepreneur, had been seeing each other for only three months before tying the knot on the private island of Mustique. Included with the statement on the website is an image of Cole's wedding ring, a rock that's sizable enough to suggest that Fernandez-Versini is quite successful at this whole "pop-up restaurant" business:
