Yes, Channing Tatum Will Be Playing Gambit

The X-Men franchise finally has a Gambit. And yes, we are totally ignoring the Gambit from the terrible prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Not to mention the existence of that movie altogether.

So bow down before the new Ragin' Cajun: Channing Tatum.

While on the red carpet for X-Men: Days of Future Past, casting director Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed the news, saying, "It is Channing."

You may recall that both Donner and Tatum wanted the 21 Jump Street star to take on the role of the Cajun kinetic master.

As for why he was chosen to take on the mantle of the fan favorite character (besides the sex appeal), Donner revealed, "He’s a rogue, Channing, he’s a rascal, like Remy LaBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that."

She also mentioned that they both have some serious Southern charm on their side.
