Cee Lo Green to Produce and Star in NBC Family Sitcom
Cee Lo Green is set to executive produce and star in a NBC family sitcom loosely based on his relationship with his ex-wife and kids. I like Cee Lo, but I just don't know about this one.
Per deadline.com, the multi-camera comedy from Sony TV and Happy Madison studios will be co-produced and written by Everybody Hates Chris veteran Ali Leroi.
The sitcom will focus on a character loosely based on Cee Lo and his efforts to balance a hectic career as a recording artist and family life. The sitcom will mark Cee Lo's debut as a television actor, though he also had a role in the feature film Sparkle.
Doesn't really sound like a particularly original or exciting premise for a TV show, but the involvement of Leroi gives me some hope for the project. Goodness knows NBC could desperately use a successful new comedy.
