Cee-Lo Green Pleads Not Guilty to Ecstasy Charge

As promised, Cee-Lo Green arrived in court today to face one felony count of giving a woman ecstasy rather than the initial sexual assault charges he was facing which were dropped.

Green showed up in court for his arraignment and pled not guilty to the charge. He is currently paying his $30,000 bond and has the next 24-hours to turn himself into police for booking.

If you don't recall the initial incident in question, a woman says Green took her out to dinner only to bring her home, unknowingly give her MDMA and sexually assault her.

The DA has dropped the sexual assault and is instead charging Green with being in possession of ecstasy and sharing it with said woman, an event which he talks about in a tape recording obtained by police.

"We are pleased that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has completed its investigation and concluded that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago," his attorney said of the charges of sexual assault against her client.

"As it relates to the one charge of furnishing or sharing ecstasy, Mr. Green will responsibly address that matter in a court of law."

A hearing has been set for next month and assuming that he gets convicted (which he won't because he's a celebrity and that's how these things work) he could face up to four years in prison.

But seeing as this isn't for tax evasion or insider trading, he's probably all good.
