CBS Picks Up Series From Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum has sold a script for a comedy series he plans to produce for CBS.

Tatum, Reid Carolin, and longtime friend Nick Zano have developed Nicky, a half-hour sitcom based on Zano’s experiences growing up in New Jersey with seven different women. Zano will star as the titular lead, a 30-year-old man trying to move out from under the roof he shares with his sisters, mother, and grandmother. Tatum and Carolin will executive produce the show.

While Tatum isn't expected to star, the show could potentially negotiate a guest starring appearance on the series from the movie star, particularly if the show winds up being a hit for the network. As for Zano, this won't be his first appearance on CBS, as the actor previously had a recurring role on 2 Broke Girls. No word on when the show is scheduled to begin pre-production, but it certainly seems as though networks are shoring up their schedules for the 2014-2015 broadcast season far earlier than ever before.
