Time Warner Cable has dropped CBS and Showtime in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas on Friday. Great.

This just pushed me one more step to watching stuff online and not on TV. I need Ray Donovan! I paid for my subscription!

Showtime dropped by Time Warner Cable

From FOX News:

Three million Time Warner Cable customers in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas lost access to CBS programming in a fee dispute Friday, threatening their ability to watch popular shows like "Under the Dome" or see Tiger Woods pursue his 8th win at the Bridgestone Invitational.

The nation's second largest cable operator said that CBS refused to have productive negotiations, which were repeatedly extended after their previous deal expired at the end of June.

As Friday's blackout stretched past a couple of hours, it appeared consumers would be caught in the crossfire for some time.

"It's become clear that no matter how much time we give them, they're not willing to come to reasonable terms," Time Warner Cable said.

Statement from Time Warner Cable:

CBS Corporation, the owner of several TV networks and broadcast TV stations, has made outrageous demands for the right to continue delivering their programming to our customers. As a result, several CBS-owned channels have been removed from your lineup while we continue to negotiate for fair and reasonable terms.

We deeply regret being forced into this position by CBS, but we're prepared to stand by our customers and do what it takes to fight these unreasonable demands.
