Cate Blanchett to Play Lucille Ball in Aaron Sorkin Biopic

Oscar-winner actress Cate Blanchett has been cast as Lucille Ball in the comedienne's upcoming biopic, which is being penned by Aaron Sorkin.

The film will focus on Ball's 20-year relationship with band leader Desi Arnaz. As you probably know, after eloping, the duo would go on to create and star in the television show I Love Lucy together, a role which earned Ball four Emmys.

The film (which currently has no director or release date) will be produced by Ball and Arnaz's children: Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.

This isn't Sorkin's first time writing a biopic, Sorkin also penned the upcoming film about Apple founder Steve Jobs.
