Cartoon Network Renews 'Rick and Morty' for Second Season

Cartoon Network has handed down a renewal to one of its biggest surprise hits.

Rick and Morty, the animated comedy from Community creator Dan Harmon, has been renewed for a second season by the network.

In an amusing statement that pokes fun at the ratings woes Community has faced as a result of being pit against The Big Bang Theory, Harmon celebrated the good fortune of Rick and Morty: “I’m relieved to be in a time slot of no strategic value to CBS.”

Given the beating the fantastic Community has taken in the ratings over the years, in addition to the insane quality of Rick and Morty, we are too, Mr. Harmon. We are too.
