Carrie Underwood's 'Good Girl' Has Been Certified Gold
2012 is shaping up to be Carrie Underwood's comeback year! On February 24th, Underwood digitally released her "Good Girl" track and it has officially been certified gold with 500,000 downloads. That's pretty impressive considering 2011 was fairly quiet for the Country bombshell. She's currently gearing up promotion for her upcoming album Blown Away -- which hits shelves on May 1.
Fans have been clamoring the web for news and tidbits about the new release. Recently, media outlets and radio DJ's have had the exclusive opportunity to listen to the new album. Needless to say, it is getting rave reviews. Her official website describes the album:
Teaming again with producer Mark Bright, Carrie delivers a 14-song collection that covers a particularly vast expanse of emotional territory. She celebrates the understated pleasures of small-town living in “Thank God For Hometowns” and explores the exquisite fragility of life in “Forever Changed.” She’s not averse to tackling abuse and betrayal then doling out a little sweet revenge with such compelling tracks as “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs.” Musically the songs range from rollicking up-tempo anthems, such as her smash first single “Good Girl” to the island-flavored escape of “One Way Ticket” and the steel guitar-laced country lament of “Wine After Whiskey.”"Good Girl" -- which is the lead single -- is sitting comfortably at No. 8 on the Mediabase Country charts.
