Carrie Underwood sees herself in Lauren Alaina
Carrie Underwood has revealed that she sees herself in American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina.
Lauren's new single is "Eighteen Inches" which she co-wrote with Carrie. How sweet! Idol-bonding!
I don't think Lauren will reach the chart success of Carrie, but I hope this push from her idol helps a bit.

Country superstar CARRIE UNDERWOOD wants to be a big sister to fellow AMERICAN IDOL alum LAUREN ALAINA, because the teenager reminds her of herself as a young performer.
Idol's season 10 runner-up recently announced that the next single from her debut album will be Eighteen Inches, a tune she co-wrote with Underwood, who is her own personal Idol.
Underwood claims the feeling is mutual, insisting she shares a special bond with the 17-year-old singer.
Underwood admits, “All of us ‘Idol’ people - we’re all part of this club. All the people that have come to Nashville since their days on Idol - everybody’s genuinely talented and genuinely nice, and you know, Lauren’s no exception.
“I hope in some ways I can maybe be like big sister. It’s like, whatever she’s gonna do, I’ve been there, I’ve done that. Maybe I can be like, ‘Stay away from this, and do more of this, and you know, take more pictures!’ But it’s always fun to just be able to talk to her and see that bright-eyed... and just reminds me of myself when I was just coming off of American Idol.”
The Grammy winner gives the teenager praise for her work on the album, adding, "Lauren is so amazing and does such a great job. And it’s so wonderful that that song found a home with her... I think even she and her mom, they’re like, ‘This is our song, this is all about us.’ And it just fits her really well.”
Alaina first professed her adoration of Underwood when she was on Idol in 2011. She even gave an electric performance of Underwood's hit, Before He Cheats, on the season 10 finale. Although she was not crowned the winner like her hero, Alaina still looks up to the multi-selling songstress, revealing, “Carrie has been a huge influence on who I am. She started out the same way I did, and she is someone that I look up to so much.”
Alaina's new single, Eighteen Inches, will be released on 16 July.
