Carmelita Jeter Wins Silver Medal - Women's 100m - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results
Carmelita Jeter came up just short in her bid to dethrone the Jamaicans in the Women's 100 meter sprint at the London 2012 Olympics. Race details and medal results to follow.
Carmelita Jeter of the United States missed the gold medal and title of fastest woman in the world by just .03 seconds. Instead, the medal and the title will stay with defending Olympic champion Shelly Anne Fraser-Pryce. Jeter was right there with Pryce at the finish, but just couldn't quite get ahead of her. A great race by both women. Veronica Campbell-Brown edged out the other two Americans to claim the bronze for Jamaica as well. Can the United States stop a Jamaican sweep of the sprinting events? We shall see.
Results:
Gold: Shelly Anne Fraser-Pryce - Jamaica
Silver: Carmelita Jeter - United States
Bronze: Veronica Campbell-Brown - Jamaica
Congratulations to all the medalists!
