'Captain America 3' Release Date Confirmed

On the back of the record-breaking opening weekend for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel and Disney have already announced the release date for the third Captain America movie.

Captain America 3 will hit theaters on May 6, 2016, with directors Anthony and Joe Russo returning along with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Of course, the controversy here is in the huge box office matchup this sets up, as Captain America 3 will release on the same day as Batman vs. Superman, the hotly-anticipated Man of Steel follow-up.

However, if you can't wait that long for more Cap, don't worry. The patriotic superhero will be appearing in next summer's Avengers: Age of Ultron, which releases on May 1, 2015.

So yeah, superheroics aren't going anywhere any time soon. At least not on the big-screen.
