'Bunheads' Star Cast in Lifetime's 'Petals on the Wind'

For us Bunheads fans who still miss our favorite quirky, cancelled ABC Family drama, the wound is still raw. But between Emma Dumont appearing on ABC's Mind Games, and Sutton Foster starring in a pilot for TV Land, it's clear the cast has moved on to greener pastures. Take Bailey Buntain, for instance.
Buntain, who played the role of Ginny in the short-lived ABC Family series, has been cast in Petals on the Wind, Lifetime's upcoming TV movie sequel to Flowers in the Attic. Buntain will play the role of Carrie, who is still reeling from the loss of her brother, Corey, who was poisoned in the first film by their mother (Heather Graham).
The film, based on the V.C. Andrews book of the same name, takes place ten years after the original, and follows the continued struggles of the Dollanganger kids as they enter an uncertain adulthood. Of course, with the shift to older characters comes the shift to an older cast. Masters of Sex star Rose McIver will take over the role of Cathy from Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka, while Pretty Little Liars star Wyatt Nash will take over the role of Christopher from Mason Dye. However, not all of the cast is new: Graham and Ellen Burstyn will reprise their roles from Flowers in the Attic.
No word yet on when we can expect the film to premiere, but if this is anywhere near the success that the first TV movie was, Lifetime could have a franchise on its hands, given that there are three other novels in the Dollanganger series yet to be adapted.
