Brothers 3 sing 'Safe and Sound' on The X Factor Australia 2014 (VIDEO)

Brothers 3 sang 'Safe and Sound' (Audition Song) on The X Factor Australia 2014 Grand Final on Sunday, October 19, 2014.

I've never been huge on Brothers 3, but I actually really enjoyed this. It was right in their folk music wheelhouse, and they performed it well. I could see why they picked this for their audition months ago, since it's a song that allows the boys to highlight their harmonies. It's the same deal here, as they get to display the tenderness of their vocals, and the blend of their harmonies. I wish some of the solo verses were a bit stronger, but other than that, I thought this was a very solid performance with a terrific arrangement.

That said, I did have to laugh when Dannii said she couldn't imagine the 2014 competition without them. Without a Wildcard twist, they wouldn't even be here, because Dannii cut them! She'd be knocked out of the competition right now. Her mentoring had almost nothing to do with getting them here: the moment she first got the category and had the decision 100% in her hands, she sent the boys home. You'd think at some point she'd acknowledge that, or at least admit, in retrospect, what a huge mistake she made. But she's acting like she always put them through. And she didn't. For some reason, she decided Younger Than Yesterday needed a spot in the live shows. Lucky for Dannii there was a Wildcard.

But what do you think of Brothers 3?
