Brittany Murphy's Dad Understandably 'Disgusted' About Lifetime Biopic
Since there's never a family tragedy big enough for Lifetime not to capitalize on, a made-for-TV movie entitled The Brittany Murphy Story is set for release this week.
Murphy's biological father, Angelo Bertolotti, is understandably upset about the whole thing.
So much so that he has been ranting about the film nonstop. Most likely because the trailer seems to hint that the film in question is being presented as a murder mystery.
As he lamented to the Examiner, "I am disgusted and outraged that Lifetime decided to produce such a trashy project, defiling the memory of my beautiful, talented daughter, Brittany Murphy."
"Frankly, I am amazed at their audacity of calling it 'a true story' without conducting any research or consulting with any members of the family. The Brittany Murphy Story is an affront to everything my daughter was in real life. It's hideous, unauthorized and completely untrue."
Bertolotti has also been reacting vehemently in real time on Twitter.

You may recall that at the time of her mysterious death at the age of 32, Murphy's father pushed for independent testing, suggesting that Murphy's mother may have been poisoning her.
Defending herself and the project from Bertolotti's attacks is actress Amanda Fuller, who plays Brittany.
In a separate interview she claimed she only had two days to prepare for the role which was filmed in just 16 days on a very minimal budget.
"It is what it is," Fuller explained. "All of our hearts were in the right place."
She would go on to say of Bertolotti, "I don’t know what his intentions are but I don’t believe them to be good intentions. It’s complicated. And it is hard because I want to do nothing but respect her and her family. "
