Brian Friedman Returns to X Factor UK - Dance Intervention
Brian Friedman will return to The X Factor UK to reprise his role as the show's lead choreographer. Simon Cowell reportedly requested Friedman return to the U.K. version of the show to fix the show's horrible dance routines.
Per The Sun, last season's X Factor UK dance routines were widely panned by fans of the show and Simon Cowell also criticized the routines as being "too wooden." As a result, he decided the U.K. show needed Friedman more than the U.S. version and tasked the choreographer with revitalizing the dance routines for the new season.
Sources close to the show are quoted as saying:
“America is teeming with great choreographers so Simon could spare him to return to the UK. Last year’s performances were often atrocious in Simon’s eyes mainly because the choreography was all wrong.
“Brian instinctively knows what works and he was sorely missed. Simon has dug out his cheque book and given him a load of cash and said ‘fix it’.
I loved B. Frie when he was on So You Think You Can Dance, but I wasn't really that impressed with the dance routines on the first season of the U.S. X Factor, so I'm interested to see what the new crew will bring to the table.
