Breaking Bad - Season 5 Episode 1 - Video Preview - First 90 Seconds of Premiere
AMC has released the first 90 seconds of this Sunday's fifth season premiere of Breaking Bad.
It goes without saying that you shouldn't watch if you haven't finished season four, much less read the following, as it reveals the outcome of the finale.
The episode appears to begin mere hours after the end of said finale, following in the wake of the explosion at Casa Tranquilla, in which drug kingpin Gus Fring was blown like an NES cartridge. Because it's hard to sell decent chicken when you're missing half your face. I'd hazard a guess and say this scene comes after the opening credits, since the cold open is where we get a lot of the teases for the rest of the episode. Regardless, even though not much happens in the scene, you get a taste of what will likely be among season 5's primary narrative threads: the renewed distance between Skylar and Walt, the public reaction to the death of Gus Fring and the revelation of his unsavory ties to the meth trade, and Walt's sliding scale of moral compromise, particularly as it concerns what he shares with and what he hides from his family.
In brief, Sunday cannot come soon enough.
Check out the season premiere of Breaking Bad, this Sunday at 10pm on AMC. And check back here soon after for the recap and review of the episode!
