Brandon Routh Joins 'Arrow' Season 3
Arrow is adding Superman to the cast! Okay, maybe not Superman the character, but someone who once played him on the big screen.
Brandon Routh has joined the cast of Arrow for Season 3 in the role of Ray Palmer, the man better known as The Atom. Palmer is a scientist and inventor who comes into the lives of Oliver and (rumored love interest) Felicity as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. However, while Palmer is a public figure, his intentions for Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division are very much a mystery.
Routh joins a packed list of newcomers for Season 3, as Arrow has already added Karl Yune (as Oliver's Hong Kong handler Maseo Yamashiro), Sin City alum Devon Aoki as Katana, and The Blacklist vet Peter Stormare as Count Vertigo.
Most recently, Routh appeared on Fox's Enlisted, which ended up getting the ax at the end of the season, making it two comedy cancellations in a row following the death of CBS's short-lived Partners in the 2012-2013 season. In short, this role on Arrow could be a real shot in the arm for Routh. And for the show.
Arrow Season 3 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 8 on The CW.
