Brad Paisley Names Album 'Moonshine In The Trunk'; Discusses New Sound
Yesterday (May 14), Brad Paisley revealed in an exclusive interview with Billboard that he has finally named both his upcoming album and his tour, which starts tomorrow. The tour will be called the Country Nation World Tour (presented by Kraft Cheese) and kicks off tomorrow in Philadelphia, hitting 40 cities in the US and Canada throughout the summer.
More pressing, he announced that his tenth studio album, due on August 26, will be titled Moonshine In The Trunk, and will include experimenting with EDM, more specifically dubstep. "When you hear a banjo through stutter edit, it's the coolest thing you ever heard," Brad said. "I have a song that's a basic love song, it's got a great groove, and I cut this guitar part that gets distorted when I turn the nob up. I would say to Luke, 'Oh that should've been done 20 years ago, but they couldn't.' The rulebook's gone, or was there ever one? They try, but I don't play by it."
Yes Brad, yes there is a rulebook. It says country + EDM = nonono reserved for the idiocy of Jerrod Niemann. But I don't know, I could be wrong. Just sounds like Brad's lost his mind to me.
