Boardwalk Empire - Season 2 Episode 1 - 21 - Recap

Boardwalk Empire is back with enough violence and creepers to last a long while. Chalky has had it with everyone and everything after the KKK storms his warehouse and blows everyone inside to bits. Nightmares. Because the law was so effed up back then, Chalky is in deep for just shooting one of them in retaliation. Nucky is busy playing both sides of the fence while trying to protect Chalky. He arrests him to keep him safe but he's having his own problems. His own brother and Jimmy are still secretly working against him and things with Margaret are still icy. Jimmy and Eli are responsible for the warehouse attack. Before he can try to mend anything else, Nucky is arrested for election fraud.

Some time has passed but things are pretty much the same. Jimmy and Angela have gotten married but things are still weird between them. It's like an unspoken argument that just hangs there all the time. When they're not awkwardly kissing and disagreeing, Jimmy's mom is around to be almost as creepy as Nelson. Her relationship with Jimmy is just gross. Like, why did Angela need to know you kissed Jimmy's "winky" when you changed his diaper as a baby? Better yet, WHY? Nucky is proving he still cares for Jimmy deep down and sends him a sentimental wedding gift. Will Jimmy have second thoughts about working against him? I love Jimmy when he's being BFFs with Richard. I Awww'd out loud when Richard was too embarrassed to eat biscuits at the table. When he's at home, he's cutting out pictures of families and people in love. He's so sweet when he's not blowing people up. <3

Elsewhere in creepy land, Nelson is still creepy. And still married to his wife who he sees every month when she comes to visit. They're celebrating their 13th anniversary at a fancy restaurant. While he's creepy, I love Nelson's awkward replies to people during normal conversations. After their meal, he beats the crap out of the waiter and busts the whole place for selling alcohol. He goes home with all the money he got from the place and pays off Lucy who is still pregnant and living with him. Her character is so gross.
