Blake Shelton Responds to Simon Cowell 'Mouthing Off' About 'The Voice'
Blake Shelton accuses Simon Cowell of "always mouthing off" about The Voice and says he needs to focus on his own show instead of whining about what other people are doing. Tell us how you really feel Blake!
In this interview with Access Hollywood, Blake says that he doesn't usually let Simon's comments about The Voice get to him, but he doesn't get why Simon is always "b---ing and moaning" about The Voice.
Blake says, "Every time I turn around the guy is mouthing off. Don't y'all wish you had time to sit around and b**** and moan like that guy does? Every time I turn around, he's mouthing off about our show."
Blake suggested that Simon must have "too much time on his hands" and that there's plenty of room for all of the singing shows and they should live and let live and be happy for each other's success.
I think Blake has some good points, but it was NBC who made the aggressive move to pit The Voice directly against The X Factor premiere. Plus, it's just easier for Blake to take a more laid back approach to the competition. If The Voice tanks, he can go back to being a country singer. The X Factor franchise is a much bigger chunk of Simon's career and a much bigger deal to him if it fails.
It will be interesting to see the reaction from all the players when the ratings come in for tonight's match up.
