Billy Joel to Play Madison Square Garden Every Month For the Rest of His Life

Billy Joel loves New York. A LOT.
The legendary singer-songwriter has inked a deal that will see him perform at least once at Madison Square Garden every month for the rest of his life. Of course, the catch is "every month for the rest of his life" for "as long as there is demand." And there's been no indication that there wouldn't be. The singer has played over 40 shows in the historic building, including a record-setting twelve consecutive sold-out shows in 2006. Granted, that was in 2006, when Daniel Powter and Sean Paul were people your average man on the street might actually have heard of. (Maybe.) But some would argue Joel is as popular now as he's ever been. So expect a lengthy stay for Joel at MSG.
For his upcoming tour, only five dates have been announced, including a 65th birthday bash set for May 9th. But additional dates will be announced in the future.
