Bill Hader Will Host 'Saturday Night Live' on October 11

Bill Hader is coming back to SNL!

The actor will return to host Saturday Night Live on October 11, for the third episode of the show's milestone 40th season. It's a natural move to make, as the show just hasn't been the same without Hader, who was probably the best all-around performer SNL has had in a decade. Not only did he serve up stellar impressions of everyone from Oscar winner Al Pacino to obscure personalities like Dateline's Keith Morrison (my personal favorite), he also had the show's biggest breakout character in ages with Stefon, the flamboyant City Correspondent for Weekend Update, whose appearances frequently resulted in Hader completely breaking into laughter on-camera. Over the course of his eight-year stint on Saturday Night Live, Hader earned two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and I would argue he deserved to win at least once. I mean, really, does Modern Family even need any more Emmys?

Joining Hader on the October 11th show is musical guest Hozier, the Irish singer who's topping the Alternative Radio charts with his smash single . Basically, there's plenty to be excited about for SNL this year, given the sheer volume of first-rate talent they've assembled to kick off this season, as Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will host next Saturday's season premiere, followed by Sarah Silverman on October 4. And that's not all worth getting stoked over, as writer Michael Che will become the first black Weekend Update co-anchor, while 20-year-old comedian Pete Davidson becomes one of the youngest SNL cast members in history, behind only Anthony Michael Hall (17), Eddie Murphy (19), and Robert Downey, Jr. (20).

In short, Saturday nights are about to get a lot more interesting. You know, assuming you don't already have plans.
