Big Brother 16 Premiere Recap - Night 1 (VIDEO)
Big Brother 16 premiered tonight on CBS with a few twists that live up to the show's motto: expect the unexpected.
On night one of the premiere, eight of the 16 houseguests enter the house.
First 8 Houseguests
Donny, 41, a groundskeeper. He said that his only contact with a famous person every was he was the janitor of Kellie Pickler's high school. Awww. I really like Donny.
Paola, a DJ from Astoria, NY.
Cody, 23, former professional soccer player. He is so cute. One my early favorites.
Frankie, 31, YouTube personality and older brother of Ariana Grande. We are #TeamGrande this season! I hope that Frankie surrounds himself with people who love him in the house because he is a target.
Amber, a rockclimber. Her eyes are mesmerizing.
Devin, former professional baseball player. He quit the minor leagues to take care of his son. So much muscle on this guy. Wow.
Nicole, from Ubly. I like her.
Joey, makeup artist from Seattle. Blue hair. Liberal.
Entering The House
Entering first were Cody, Amber, Joey and Donny. Not much happened except that they got to choose their beds first. Next were Devin, Paola, Nicole and Frankie.
Being the first eight in the house, the group informally formed the "Crazy 8 Alliance". Then the girls formed the "El Cuatro" alliance led by Paola. Devin and Donny also formed an informal duo, while Frankie and Cody too perhaps -- although that might be something else and not alliance related, LOL.
First day alliances? Hmmm. We shall see.
HOH Competition
Beach themed comp. The houseguests stand on a rolling log holding on to a rope. Last one standing becomes HOH.
Paola out first.
Joey out second.
Nicole out third, after the sunscreen gets sprayed.
Donny out, after the log reverses direction.
Devin out next.
Cody out.
Amber decided to throw it. (Smart girl! Being the first HOH is always not a good idea.)
Frankie is last and the first HOH of the summer!
"Go Grande or go home!" he says.
But wait there are a few twists...
HOH Twist
There will be TWO HOHs this week. When the next group of eight come in, they will also compete for HOH.
Next: The HOH is not safe this week. There have been some theories on how this will happen, but the details have not been revealed to the houseguests.
(A really good theory: The two HOHs will nominate two houseguests for eviction. Then, sometime this week -- the two HOHs will compete to be the one and only HOH. The nominees of the losing HOH, then are off the chopping block. This is like a POV on steroids! Let's see what happens...)
Team America twist. Viewers vote for a houseguest to be on Team America. That person will be revealed tomorrow. Then voting will be open again for two more houseguests who will be part of the secret "Team America" alliance.
Thoughts
I am so looking forward to what happens tomorrow. I'm sure it's going to be a mess with all the new rules.
The live feeds also start after the show airs on Thursday so we will get a better lay of the land of how the houseguests stand. I'm cautiously optimistic!
