Iconic actress Bette Midler is all set to play sex symbol Mae West in a biopic for HBO.

The film, titled Mae West is currently in development and follows West's autobiography Goodness Had Nothing to Do With It, which details her life growing up, making it in Hollywood and her plays on Broadway which landed her in jail for "corrupting the morals of the youth."

Midler will also be executive producer alongside director William Friedkin who envisioned the project and the script will be written by Harvey Fierstein, who most recently wrote the book for the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots.

And if that isn't enough people for you, Jerry Weintraub, the executive producer of HBO's Behind the Candelabra will also be an executive producer on the film.

We can't wait.
