'Beauty and the Beast' Casting: 'Reign' Star Joining Alongside 'Secret Circle' Alum
Beauty and the Beast is getting some fresh blood for Season 3, as The CW looks to its own shows for its newest castmembers.
Alan Van Sprang, who played King Henry on the network's Reign, will be joining the cast alongside Natasha Henstridge, a veteran from the network's short-lived drama The Secret Circle. The pair has signed on as recurring guest stars who enter into the lives of Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Cat (Kristin Kreuk) as relationship mentors.
WARNING: MAJOR SEASON 3 VINCAT SPOILER BELOW!
Van Sprang and Henstridge will play the roles of Bob and Carol, respectively, a couple described as "mirror images of VinCat".
"Quick-witted, charming and perfectly in-sync, the married couple will share marriage and relationship advice with their engaged (!) counterparts."
Of course, there's far more to Bob and Carol than anyone realizes: they are actually Department of Homeland Security Agents who inevitably fight alongside Vincent and Cat. Yet even while they appear to be good guys, there are still secrets VinCat don't know about them. Are Bob and Carol everything they say they are?
Beauty and the Beast Season 3 promises to be the most intense season yet, as a mysterious new threat arises just as Vincent and Cat are starting a Muirfield-free life. And here we were, hoping they'd get a bit of a break from all the craziness. Ah well, time to get the band back together!
BATB returns for Season 3 in 2015, and it can't come soon enough.
