Battlestar Galactica - Series Finale

Tonight was the series finale of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. What the frak?
First Hour Rickey: "OMG! This is Fantastic! Battlestar Galactica is the greatest science fiction TV series of all time!"
Last 45 minutes Rickey: "Okay, what the frak was that?"
SPOILERS
The assault on the Cylon colony was just top-notch action I have to say. It was so bad-ass. It's like years of angst just released in that one fantastic sequence. Amazing.
The gist: Galactica attacks the colony baseship to save Hera. Ground troops find Hera after Boomer saves her. Athena kills Hera Boomer. Assault team gets back to Galactica, but the Cylons push their way in up to the command center, and Cavil grabs Hera. Baltar says some mumbo jumbo about religion. Saul offers Cavil resurrection. Cavil agrees. The final five dip their hands into the liquid in Sam's bathtub. Each of them know a part of resurrection technology, so they need to dip their hands in the pool -- however, they also end up sharing memories. One of those memories is Tory killing Tyrol's wife. Tyrol stops the resurrection technology transfer by releasing his hand from the liquid and kills Tory. Cavil declares it a trap, then all hell breaks loose in the command center. The fighting resumes again, Adama tells Starbuck to "jump the ship". Where? she asks. Anywhere! Starbuck types in the music the Hera drew in the form of numbers on the location coordinates. Jump.
Battlestar Galactica arrives at Earth... as in our Earth, with the African continent and all that.
And then it gets crappy.
First of all, there are just too many commercials. I have never seen so many commercials ever. It was like 30 minutes of commercials in the final hour.
Secondly, there were just too much of the backstory drama on old Caprica -- which unfortunately, contributed nothing to any resolution of some of the major storylines. I mean seriously. It was a bit too indulgent for my tastes. Yeah, yeah, we are supposed to care about these characters. But I also want to see a story be it drama or science fiction that makes sense.
So what happened?
It turns out that they arrive during the stone age of our Earth, so there is no technology. Only tribes with spears and antelope.
Disappointment #1: The colony decides to "leave everything behind" and live off the earth, literally. They direct all the ships to burn in the sun. Gah. So they want to plant crops instead of looking for a cure for cancer? Total nonsense. So apparently, in the last 45 minutes, the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica became a moral tale about how technology is bad for us.
Also, the centurions with red paint take over the Basestar and leave to find their meaning in life. "They deserve as much," they conclude.
Disappointment #2: Baltar's "angels". Apparently, they are really angels! Frak that.
Disappointment #3: And the biggest disappointment of them all... now what the frak was Starbuck? Jesus mother of mercy. I feel my time here is up, she says to Lee Adama. Lee says something, and then, she's gone! Shoot me now, what the hell.
150,000 years later, and we are shown images of "our Earth". Times Square, Central Park. Hera's remains are found and is called an early ancestor of man. And then... Baltar's angels (Baltar and Caprica Head Six) are walking among the people. They talk about how history could repeat itself, and "you'll never know" -- segue to all the robots we have now. The angels also talk about how god did not like being called god. Whatev.
Waaaaaa. So disappointing. But at least the action scenes were bad-ass.
Bring back Felix Gaeta!
