'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Changes Release Date...Again

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was initially intended for 2015 when it was first announced. Then, it was pushed back to May 6, 2016. Well, now the superhero team-up flick will be changing release dates again, moving up to a date six weeks earlier.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will now hit theaters on March 25, 2016, in order to avoid a face-to-face showdown with Marvel's Captain America 3, which is scheduled to release on May 6, 2016.

An insider at Warner Bros. explained that the movie is “not flinching – it's a fantastic corridor for us.”

This is because March has become a pretty huge month for tentpole releases, between The Hunger Games and Divergent, just to name two recent examples. That said, it does look as though DC doesn't want its new cinematic universe to go toe-to-toe with Marvel's. And I don't blame them one bit, especially since this is the start of the DC Cinematic Universe, meaning it needs to get off on the right foot.
