Barack Obama's Favorite TV Shows Revealed

What does the President of the United States like to watch to unwind? It turns out Barack Obama is a fan of high-stakes drama, not unlike the kind of tension he'd find in his own life.

The New York Times has ascertained Barack Obama's favorite TV shows by analyzing his comments over the past several years, narrowing the list down to just over a handful of prestige TV dramas. Apparently, "anything edgy, with hints of reality" will do the trick for the President.

According to the New York Times list, Obama's favorites include:

Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empire
Downton Abbey
Homeland
Mad Men (Obama relates Peggy Olsen to his "strong-willed grandmother.")
Breaking Bad (although the President is "way behind and frequently reminds those around him not to give anything away.")
House of Cards

That last pick, in particular, hits awfully close to home for the President.

"I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient," Obama said of the political drama, detailing to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings how much he enjoys main character Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), "This guy's getting a lot of stuff done."

Of course, the President also likes to laugh, as he's openly admitted to enjoying both Modern Family and Parks and Recreation. He also loves shows that are no longer on the air, as Obama reportedly loves HBO's iconic drama The Wire.

So...do you share any favorites with the President? Sound off in the comments!
