AYLA BROWN TO SING NATIONAL ANTHEM AT NASHVILLE'S MUSIC CITY JULY 4TH: LET FREEDOM SING! INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

BOSTON (July 1, 2010) - Recording artist Ayla Brown will sing The Star-Spangled Banner accompanied by the Grammy Award-winning National Symphony at the Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing! Independence Day concert and fireworks celebration on Sunday, July 4 at 7 p.m.

Nashville?s Independence Day weekend festivities culminates in the concert, which features musical acts taking to the Riverfront Park stage beginning in the afternoon and leading up to one of the nation?s most eye-popping fireworks displays. Artists slated to perform in addition to Brown include Trace Adkins, Calico Trail, Damien Horne, Julianne Hough, Jessie James, Jordyn Shellhart and Jaci Velasquez.

Brown, who recently graduated from Boston College and is now a special contributor for CBS? The Early Show, last month spent a few days in Nashville to do field reporting for GAC TV where she interviewed country music stars including Bucky Covington, Danny Gokey and Blake Shelton.

Brown said she is looking forward to returning to Nashville to sing the Anthem because it is always a privilege to take part in an event that pays tribute to the country.

"I am so honored to have been asked to sing the National Anthem for the Music City July 4th celebration," Brown said. "To have the opportunity to participate in one of the most respected events commemorating our nation?s birthday is really humbling.?

This is not the first time Brown has done National Anthem duties for a Fourth of July celebration. In 2006, Brown sang the Anthem while accompanied by the Boston Pops Orchestra for Boston?s annual ?Pops Goes the Fourth? fireworks spectacular at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade alongside the Charles River.
