Teen pop-star Austin Mahone was hospitalized two weeks ago for a blood clot, but since his release he's been on the mend and is ready to talk about the health scare.

"I feel a lot better," Mahone admitted to People. "I'm still trying to get to 100 percent, but I'm taking it one step at a time."

As he recalled of his road to the ER, "I started feeling a little bump in my throat. Every time I swallowed it would be scratchy, it would hurt and I had the chills."

"It made my throat hurt so bad, for three days straight I wasn't even eating solid food."

Once  at the hospital, Mahone said he was prescribed antibiotics and plenty of bed rest. "The doctor said whenever I do a lot of traveling I don't get much rest. I'm waking up at 3 a.m., then going all day, then not going to sleep until 12. He said I need a lot more rest, and I just need a break."

Per doctor's orders, Mahone rested up in his hospital room, researching people he admires on YouTube so that when he's ready to perform at his cancelled tour he'll be ready. As he explained, "So next time I do a show, I can do better and be better."

Mahone will make his triumphant return to the stage on December 2 at the KISS-FM's Jingle Ball in Dallas.
