AUDIO: Judge Joe Brown Has Been Arrested for Acting a Damn Fool

Judge Joe Brown is now sitting on the other side of the court.

The ex-TV judge has been arrested for flipping out during a Memphis juvenile court proceeding, which is apparently something that happens now.

Brown showed up in court Monday to represent someone in a child support case, although we're not sure whom, nor are we certain why Brown, who is currently running for D.A. of Shelby County, felt compelled to appear in the first place. But we do know this: Brown was immediately turned away by court staff after they informed him that they had no record of any such child support case.

It was at this point that Brown snapped, becoming verbally abusive despite several warnings to quiet down, since "warnings to quiet down" have totally worked on crazy people in the past. According to reports, Brown was "playing to the peanut gallery" and "incited a near riot."

After ignoring the judge's warnings, Brown was subsequently arrested for contempt of court.

All told, Brown was cited for contempt five times and was ultimately ordered to spend five days in jail. While Brown left under his own power, he pretty much shouted at the top of his lungs on the way out, acting a damn fool for reasons that continue to elude.
