Aretha Franklin Covers Adele's 'Rolling In the Deep' for New Album (LISTEN)

In case there was any doubt on Adele's status as a diva, it's now official: the legendary Aretha Franklin is covering the Oscar winner's massive hit, "Rolling In the Deep", for her new album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics.

Of course, there's a twist to the cover: Aretha incorporates elements of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Say what you will about "Rolling In the Deep" being overplayed to exhaustion, but this version deserves a listen, as Aretha absolutely goes to TOWN on this vocal. It's a positively wonderful cover that proves that the 72-year-old soul singer has still got it. And the album will include unique versions of other diva-riffic classics, such as Whitney Houston's "I’m Every Woman," Barbra Streisand’s "People," and Gladys Knight’s "Midnight Train to Georgia." The album releases on October 21st, but you don't have to wait to hear Aretha's take on "Rolling In the Deep"! Listen to the full track below. GO ARETHA!
