AOL CEO Tim Armstrong fires Abel Lenz of Patch during Conference Call - Audio Leak
Tim Armstrong, the CEO of AOL, fired Abel Lenz, the Creative Director of Patch, during a conference call to Patch employees yesterday.
An audio of the absurd exchange has leaked.
AOL is on the verge of laying off hundreds of Patch employees and the conference call was a way to "rally the troops" so to speak. It certainly didn't help that the CEO fired someone on the spot!
Armstrong said in the beginning of the call: "Abel, put that camera down, now" and then "Abel, you're fired. Out."
Crazy.
